Built to perform, not just to look good.

Sustainability is in the spec, not the marketing. Every Containered home meets a minimum 6-star NatHERS energy rating, uses one-use containers with known histories, and is designed to need as little active heating, cooling, and grid power as possible.

Six things we do as standard.

6-star NatHERS, minimum

Every home meets at least a 6-star NatHERS energy rating. Better insulation, sealed building envelope, and double-glazed windows mean less heating and cooling for the same comfort.

One-use containers

We only use containers with known histories — never used to transport hazardous materials, never lived in. Reusing structural steel keeps thousands of pounds out of landfill per home.

Passive design principles

Orientation, eave depth, window placement, cross-ventilation. Designed-in performance reduces reliance on mechanical heating and cooling year-round.

Local trades, Australian materials

We build with Melbourne tradespeople and source Australian materials where the quality is right. Less freight, less embodied carbon, more accountability.

Right-sized homes

Every square metre we don't build is one that doesn't have to be powered, heated, or maintained. We help clients build the home they actually need, not the biggest one they can afford.

Solar-ready as standard

Every roof is engineered to support solar from day one — even on builds where solar isn't installed initially. Easy to upgrade later when the time is right.

Avoiding greenwashing

If we can't measure it, we don't claim it.

"Sustainable" is an easy word to throw around. We try to use it carefully — with specifics rather than slogans. Where we have measurable numbers (NatHERS rating, energy consumption, material specifications), we share them. Where we're still working on improvements, we say so.

Container construction isn't carbon-neutral, and we won't pretend otherwise. What it is, is significantly more efficient than traditional residential construction at equivalent quality and finish levels.
